[Although you don’t have to pray this prayer to talk to your Creator, choosing to receive Jesus’ free gift of payment for your sins—salvation—is the most important decision you can ever make, and the most important prayer that you can ever pray. It is a first step toward a real relationship with your Creator. You must first understand that you are imperfect, a sinner, and you are shut out from the presence and glory of a perfect Creator and deserve to die for your sins.]
[Rom 3:23 NKJV] 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
[Rom 6:23 NKJV] 23 For the wages of sin [is] death, but the gift of God [is] eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
[Rom 5:8 NKJV] 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
[Rom 10:9-10, 13 NKJV] 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. ... 13 For "whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved."
[You also need to understand that you are a “whoever.” Simply pray this prayer, or one like it out loud, and become God’s adopted, perfectly-loved child.
“Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and the one who saved me from the consequences of my sins. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!
I recognize my need for Your power to live this new life guided by your Word. Please immerse and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. By faith, I receive Him right now! Thank You for this gift of your resurrection power to help me live my new life! Thank You for being my friend.”
Once you have genuinely prayed this prayer, seek out a fellow believer or someone close to share your decision with. Get a Bible or lookup one online and start reading the book of Mark and/or the book of John—Jesus’ love letter to us. If you don’t know any other believers, call 719-635-1111 or email info@awmi.net and you can confess your new found belief with mature followers of Jesus on the phone or through a written email. If possible, get involved in a Bible teaching church and ask about water baptism.
These efforts will help you fight off the doubt and unbelief that Satan—a defeated, fallen, demonic angel—will try to deceive you with. He will come at you with the thought that you are not truly saved. You are saved once you have confessed your belief in Him. Here is what the Creator’s Word says.]
[Luk 11:11-13 NKJV] 11 "If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if [he asks] for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? 12 "Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13 "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will [your] heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!"
[Rom 5:1 NKJV] 1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
[Rom 8:1 NKJV] 1 [There is] therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
[Rom 8:37-39 NKJV] 37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
[Eph 1:3-6 NKJV] 3 Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly [places] in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.
