Many teach that we can fall short in our level of faith when praying. Faith is more of a you have it or you don't situation. https://www.pexels.com/el-gr/photo/4744721/
[One common and often hurtful teaching in many Pentecostal churches is that your prayer was not answered because you didn’t have enough faith. Although some translations (NIV, NLT) use the phrase “little” or “not enough” faith instead of the word “unbelief” (KJV, NKJV). These translation choices are inconsistent with passages that say we only need the tiniest amount of faith.]
[Mat 17:19-21 NKJV] 19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, "Why could we not cast it out?" 20 So Jesus said to them, "Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed [one of the tiniest seeds], you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. 21 "However, this kind [of unbelief (based on the context)] does not go out except by prayer and fasting."
[Luk 17:6 NKJV] 6 So the Lord said, "If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,' and it would obey you.
[Mar 9:21-27 NKJV] 21 So He asked his father, "How long has this been happening to him?" And he said, "From childhood. 22 "And often he has thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us." 23 Jesus said to him, "If you can believe, all things [are] possible to him who believes." 24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, "Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!"[you can have both belief and unbelief at the same time. One negates the other and inhibits your prayers.] 25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together [Jesus hurry’s up to keep separate those He is healing away from other sources of man’s unbelief, ie. the unbelieving crowd approaching], He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it: "Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!" 26 Then [the spirit] cried out, convulsed him greatly, and came out of him. And he became as one dead, so that many said, "He is dead." 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose.
[Jesus cast out the demon and healed the boy not because the boy’s father had enough faith, but that father had all the faith he needed, he just needed help being rid of his unbelief, and his plea/prayer to Jesus was answered. He even hurried up so that unbelief from others would not interfere with the healing.]
