[Some believe that we need to be very formal when talking to the Creator of the universe, even pray in King James style Old English with words like “thee,” and “thou,” especially in public prayers. Actually, He wants us to talk to Him like a friend—like His children.]

[Isa 41:8-10 NKJV] 8 "But you, … Abraham My friend. 9 [You] whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, And called from its farthest regions, And said to you, 'You [are] My servant, I have chosen you and have not cast you away: 10 Fear not, for I [am] with you; Be not dismayed, for I [am] your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.'

[Exo 33:11 NKJV] 11 So the LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. …

[Rom 8:14-17 NKJV] 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba [Daddy], Father." 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs--heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ [the Messiah promised in the O.T.], if indeed we suffer with [Him], that we may also be glorified together.

[Heb 10:19 NLT] 19 And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven's Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus.

[When talking to God, boldly enter into His throne room like one of His kids, let him know your needs and wants, and always thank Him for being a great Daddy! When my daughters were young, they used to love to bring me books to read while sitting in my lap. Now when my granddaughter comes to visit, I love it when she grabs one of her books and willingly brings it to me so we can sit and read it together. I find myself missing her when she is not around, willingly bringing me books. Similarly, I can imagine that God misses walking and talking with us in the Garden of Eden in the cool of the day.]

[Gen 3:8a NKJV] 8 And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, ...

[God made man for the purpose to fellowship and walk with Him in the Garden of Eden. This was God’s will for us, not this fallen world with all its disasters, diseases and disharmony.

The focus of the relationship with our Heavenly Daddy is love and thankfulness. If people were ever to get a full revelation of how much God loves us, their hearts and minds would be transformed because we were created for that very love. Remember, Jesus, God in the flesh, didn’t have to choose to be tortured and killed for you. He chose to endure suffering because He wanted to show how much He loves us.]

[Heb 12:2 NKJV] 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of [our] faith, who for the joy that was set before Him [the hope of a joyful relationship with you.] endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

[1Jo 4:16 NKJV] 16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

[1Co 13:1-3 NKJV] 1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have [the gift of] prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed [the poor], and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.

[1Ch 28:9 NKJV] 9 "As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the LORD searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever.

[Jer 29:13 NKJV] 13 And you will seek Me and find [Me], when you search for Me with all your heart.

[As you begin learning and developing a prayer life, pray a prayer like this: “Thank you Father for being my friend. Please create in me a loving, consuming desire to seek You with all my heart. Thank you for creating that desire.”]

[Rom 5:11 NLT] 11 So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.
